Gentlemen, I think this challenge was a bit tougher on some of you than I imagined. We all have our own interpretations of "clean cut" and "rough cut"... let's see how well they mesh...

Barratt...Clean Cut Rough Cut Julia:Clean Cut- I think this is good, Barrett. I think you captured your face nicely here, I wish you were showcasing a bit more of yourself, but decent job. Rough Cut- I like how this photo shows a more casual side to you and is a contrast from your Clean Cut photo. Good work, altogether. Hilary:Clean Cut - Barratt, I think this is definitely clean cut. I would have liked to see a full or at least half body shot so I could see the clothes, but otherwise I like it. Rough Cut - I see this as casual but not a big contrast and not real rough. I do think the stance is kind of tough, so that's good. Maybe it's just that you have such a babyface. Overall not bad. Janice: Clean Cut- I like your clean cut look here Barratt. The smoothness of your face is what I define more so as clean cut... then I look at hair and clothing. I think I would have liked to see more of your hair and what I do see of it I would have liked to see it a bit more tame but at least you did take the time to put some sort of style into it. RoughCut - I don't think this is too bad either. You just look so darn young to be considered rough cut. Rough cut to me is The Marlboro Man, or Robert Redford... someone who can hold their own in a bar fight, street fight, or with a herd of cattle. You look like one of those boys from that boy band Mundo. Hahahaha, Oh gosh, remember them? Oh boy. It's not bad Barratt. I just wish you could have pushed the envelope a little more here because it seems to always be the same sort of look.

Mat...Clean Cut Rough Cut Hilary:Clean Cut - LOL can you say geek? Mat, this is uber-nerdy but I still love it. I find the hair a little mussed, but overall, it's clean cut and powerful. Very well done! Rough Cut - WOW! This is excellent! My favorite rough cut so far this round. Your expression makes me want to do anything you say...I think you look the total bad boy part here, and that's exactly what I wanted. Perfecto! Julia:Clean Cut- Mat, I like this as well. I love your pose and outfit. You do have a bit of a nerdy vibe going on. You also look very sharp. Well-done. Rough Cut- Aside from the fact that I wish this was a bit bigger, I like your expression and I think it gives off a rough edge to it. Overall, good work! Janice:Clean Cut - Hahahaha, I don't know about this Mat. I would give you an "A" for effort if I could. At least you put a suit on. It's a HORRIBLE suit but nonetheless it's a suit. I don't know where a clean cut gentleman, such as yourself, would go in that suit. And your hair... sigh ... its much to messed up. We must speak to the stylist about these things. As for you face, it is the cleanest cut part of the whole picture. Rough Cut - Now you look dangerous here Mat. I actually like this rough cut shot. You look lethal and mysterious and to me, yes... that is a man who is a little rough around the edges. I like it! Good job on this part.

Miro...Clean Cut Rough Cut Hilary:Clean Cut - I like this one, Miro. Nice profile shot, you look clean cut and handsome. I see you about to go into a business meeting. That works. Good job. Rough Cut - This is nice, too. I like the sporty look. I do find your expression a bit dull, but overall it's a good photo. Janice:Clean Cut - I'm loving this challenge Hilary! Hmmm, I just love both types of these men, so I'm having a ball with all these contrasts. Miro, Miro, M i r o... but little snickerdoodle. I love this clean cut look. You actually cleaned up, nice tie, nice look, you styled your hair! I think it's a great shot... a very admirable look. Rough Cut - Oh yes... Oh yes! Let me stroke those abs Miro. I love this shot as well. You look like you could be a street rough. Ready to go hang with the boyz in da hood... that kind of tough. Everything adds to the rough cut appeal here. The outfit, your face and your expression. Good job! Julia:Clean Cut- I like this, Miro. I really like your angles here, and I think you look properly dressed to be well suited for this particular theme. Rough Cut- I think your attitude and the personality of your clothes helps this photo to be a stand out shot. Like Janice said, you do look tough here. Nicely done!

Mathias...Clean Cut Enjoying some peace and quiet by the sea. Rough Cut Waiting for my date. She loves that little bit of 5:00 shadow, so I want to please. Hilary:Clean Cut - Mathias, I think you nailed this one. You are totally clean cut - no doubt about it. Love the slicked-back hair. You are definitely working the look here. Rough Cut - I'm not so sure I see rough cut here, Mathias. As Just a bit of stubble does not make a rough cut look. I think you look sexy as hell... and while your expression is smoldering, I just can't stretch it to say rough. Julia:Clean Cut- I also like how clean cut and well-kempt you look here. You're impeccably dressed and I also like your slicked back hair here. Nice job. Rough Cut- Similar to Mat, you're only giving us your face to work off of here, and I can see a bit of a messy, rough vibe that you're giving off, so I'd said, decent effort. Janice:Clean Cut - Yacht Club boy!!! Watch out!!! Again this is a good clean cut shot!. I wish I could pick it apart better but you put your nice clothes on, right down to that niffty look sneakers. You look smooth and crisp throughout the shot and what makes me like this more so is the colors you picked. Everything, and I mean everything makes this photo clean cut. Bueno job Senor Mathias! Rough Cut - Hmmmm, this is different for me. I don't see you as dangerous, lethal, deadly... more so kind of obnoxious and pretentious. I could see this as a 5 O'Clock shadow... laziness, more so then a personality that you carry with you. I still think you look just too damn good for yourself to be considered too rough.

Travis...Clean Cut Rough Cut I could not find a proper rough cut not even in his candids.Julia: Clean Cut- For this photo, I am a bit mixed. I can see a bit of a clean cut vibe to it, but it looks fairly sporty. I do think you matched your photos up well, though, so good work, altogether. Rough Cut- I think this is actually pretty good, Travis. You have a very gritty look to yourself and I think you fit the theme well. Hilary:Clean Cut - Travis, I actually see more rough cut here than clean cut. You look a bit mussed - and a bit exhausted...as if you just came out of one of our late night...uh "meetings"..... I do think it's hot, though. One of your best so far. Love the midriff exposure. Rough Cut - Now THIS is rough cut! I only wish that price sticker wasn't there - but it almost adds to the roughness factor, lol. I think you hit the nail on the head here, Travis. Good job! Janice:Clean Cut - Strike a POSE there Travis! Thank you for giving us something different. I like a man who can listen to critiques and say "you want different... I'll give you DIFFERENT". Nice of you to step up to that challenge. Now... about your clean cut photo. Hmmmm, It's not exactly what I was looking for. The T-shirt, hmmm, doesn't' scream clean cut to me and your hair sweeping into face doesn't either. The only thing that looks clean is the lack of beard growth. Rough Cut - Now this is a rough cut photo if I've ever seen one. You look like someone who is living in the dust bowl, ready to take on any varmin (twang) that are heading your way. Yeah, this is good Travis. This is when that unruly, wild hair really works in your favor. The price tag. LOL. Ohhhhh Travis.

Ryan...Clean Cut Rough Cut Hope I understood the challenge good enough... Julia: Clean Cut- Ryan, I think you look very professional here. I like this, and I think you fit the theme very well. Rough Cut- I like this photo a lot, as well, Ryan. You look very outdoorsy and like a hick from Nowhere, USA. I am a bit puzzled as to why you're semi-naked, but I think it works well. Nicely done! Hilary:Clean Cut - Ryan, I think this is very clean cut. It fits perfectly into the theme with your shirt and tie. Great job! Rough Cut - Uhhhh Ryan. Beware of ever posting how you have nothing for a shoot. Because, as you already know, I searched The Fashion Spot after you said that and found several great photos for rough cut. This one...not what I would have picked. It seems a bit Tom Sawyerish, and I guess I can see a bit of roughness but I was a bit disappointed when I saw this one. Janice:Clean Cut - I guess I just like my clean cut guys to just look sharp and you my dear are looking sharp, and dressed very professionally. I don't have anything bad to say about your clean cut shot... except for the fact that it looks like you are about hit puberty and head out to your chess tournament. lol. Yeah, you look like you don't need to shave yet. LOL. Sorry... it's not bad though. Rough Cut - This isn't bad. It's not my favorite but it's definitely not bad for a rough cut. You have no shoes on, and that's gotta be rough on your feet. The clothing, or lack there of is interesting but what makes me think rough cut is that hat and the setting. Like you're going to go catch yo' mama some frog legs for suppa tonight. It's not bad.

Andrew...
Clean Cut Rough Cut Hilary:Clean Cut - Andrew this shot is gorgeous! I see clean cut and pensive. Great job! Rough Cut - Also an awesome shot. I love the leather and the expression. This screams rough cut to me. Awesome! Janice: Clean Cut - I would beg for you to do is shave that 5 O'Clock stubble off your face and then I'd say that I found a winner who was going to take me out for a steak dinner!!! The attire and the hair really work for me here. I think you look suave and debonair. Everything but that little stubble works here. Rough Cut - I've said it over and over again... I love that dangerous look in my rough cut men. I want to know that they can handle themselves in situations and you look like you could here. I think you have a very serious expression with your eyes and the way you are looking over your shoulder tells me you do a good job watching your own back. I think everything is good here except for the slight quality issue which I'm sure is done on purpose by the photographer since the A/J isn't fuzzy at all. Hilary: Just FYI Miss Janice. I gave them clean cut examples with stubble and I said it was okay - because you can have neatly groomed facial hair and still be clean cut. Julia:Clean Cut- I like how pensive you look here. You look sophisticated and very handsome here. Nice work! Rough Cut- You look very rugged and your expression looks like you're saying "Back off." I think this is a great photo, Andrew!

Evandro...Clean Cut The reason I choose this photo was because he look very clean and sophisticated. He is also prim and proper being in a mansion type of theme, he is exudes sophistication in this photo.Rough Cut The interpretation I took on this was that a rough cut guy was a tough guy that is mysterious in a way. He just looks tough and he keeps you wondering and guessing and that's the mystery behind him.Hilary:Clean Cut - Evandro I am not diggin this one, sweetie. I find the whole shot is pretty blah. The lighting is very off and you just look kind of seedy here. I know you're wearing a tux, so that qualifies as clean cut technically....I'm just not loving the look at all. Rough Cut - WOWZA Evandro! Somebody get me a pillow so when I fall back in my chair I don't hurt my precious head. THIS is rough cut to the max...and SMOKIN' HOT! The sweat, the clothing, the setting...all set it up for you to nail this shot - and speaking of nailing... oh nevermind we can discuss that later. You look positively wicked here, Evandro. Great job! Julia:Clean Cut- I think you look good here. Your outfit helps to make this shot work. I think you look intense and dapper. Good job. Rough Cut- This is very nice, Evandro. You epitomize rough looking here. Everything works to make this shot stand out, and you look like you're ready for a little rough, and dare I say, naughty, fun. Janice: Clean Cut - Ohhh la, la... we have a man who went out of his way to put on a Tuxedo on! Very nice Evandro. Of course you cannot go wrong with a tuxedo when your attempting to portray clean cut. I think this is remarkable. My only suggestion would be to watch the lighting on challenges where, I for one, would like to see your whole face. I want to see just how clean you are here. No hidden earrings in your left ear (my right as I'm looking at this shot). Rough Cut - Michael Phelps? Is that you? More importantly... ewwww, arm pit hairs. I don't want you to shave them or wax them, don't' get me wrong there but I don't want to see them. EEKKKKKK, does that make you rough around the edges? Maybe. You just seem so hairy here. It's not a bad shot but it's not screaming out rough cut to me either.

Eugen...Clean Cut This was a very hard decision to make because I have a billion clean cut photos lmao BUT, I was looking through most my pictures and realized that I haven't smiled in anything I've submitted yet, so I wanted to show that I can give you all something different. I prefer the fierce look, but I DO know how to smile lmaoRough Cut I had quite a few for this, nothing like the clean cut, but a few. But most of them were grungy. I wanted to still be sexy, yet a bit dirty, but rough looking Julia:Clean Cut- I think this is a sweet looking photo, Eugen. I like your smile. As you said, it's a feature we've not yet seen on you. I also like your outfit here, I think it make you look very well put-together. Rough Cut- Beside the fact that this photo is a bit hazy and makes you look washed out, I like the rough and tumble edge you look to possess. I also like your surroundings, as it makes you look like you are a worker in the Country that's not afraid to get his hands dirty. Nice job, overall. Hilary:Clean Cut - Eugen, I like this one. I am glad you decided to give us something new - it's very sweet. I think you are very clean-cut All-American boy here and it works. Great job! Rough Cut - I agree 100% with Julia here. The haze factor washes out your photo, but other than that this is definitely rough cut. You did definitely nail the theme....and I do love a guy who's into hard work. Very sexy. Good job! Janice:Clean Cut - Hahaha, this is a different sort of clean cut. I mean you can't be really rough and tough when you're letting a bunch of little boys handle you. I like the attire and yeah, I'd say you look fairly clean cut in a way. It's a fun shot. Rough Cut - Ohhh La, La... a man with his underwear playing peek-a-boo with my eyes. Hmmmm, I have to admit that I like this shot. You're sooooo smooth and not dirty enough and your hardly look dangerous but I'm sure being around horses, is a dirty job, and I bet you can handle those wild beasts just fine.

Thanks Judges. I see some amazing shot here, good job everyone! BTW Hil, when I posted about that is because I thought by clean and rough cut you meant beard/moustache
